Reminds me of time back in PA, my brother was fishing a hole with a 12’ ledge on the left side. He was 14ish at the time, and was always told the bears are more scared of you, then you are of they… ya… this one seemed to missed that memo. My bro heard a rustle up and to the left of his shoulder, and looks up expecting to see a deer, raccoon, or maybe a bird. But no, alas, it was a bear. Granted, it could have been squashed by this grizzly without a second thought. But they stared each other down, for a moment, as my brother patiently waited for that bear to freak out and run the other way. Since it had no intention on doing this, my brother decided to play that roll. I heard the screaming from a half-mile away.

I hope that's not PA as in Pennsylvania...dang bears get around.

Yup, North Central Pennsylvania. But the male black bears there, where my family fishes, get to about 400-500lbs. One time back in the 50's or 60's my grandfather was driving up property from where my brother had his encounter, and there were bolders rolling down the mountainside. He looks up the hill, and there was a black bear tossing good size rocks down to his truck.
